Messongi  - Chlomatiana Church.  Map

This walk takes you from Messongi alongside the Messongi river and up tracks to reach Chlomatiana and the church, from where there are wonderful views over to Messongi and the coast. It then follows a quiet tarmac road back down to Messongi.

Start on the Moraitika to Hlomos road opposite the first turning down to Messongi facing in the direction of Hlomos.

  

Facing  in the direction of Hlomos take the small road off to the right passing an advertising board and a wooden cross on the left.

      

Follow  this road along and down to eventually go alongside the Messongi river.

On reaching a right hand bend just before a bridge over the river go straight on along a track. Follow this main track along and around  to the left following a chain  link fence uphill, ignoring all turnings off, until you come to a main junction.

Here carry on up a tarmac road through the olive trees to reach the village of Chlomatiana and the church.

From here there are fine views down to Messongi and the coast.

      

Retrace your steps back down the tarmac road to the main junction and here bear right. This quiet  road takes you back down to  the Moraitika/ Hlomos road at the start.
